Inflight Inflatables Synopsis & Director Statment:

Melvin, a pathetic short white male sex addict in his mid-twenties with crippling anxiety attempts to sneak his beloved sex doll through TSA. He has to evade drug-sniffing dogs and dodge TSA employees, socialize with real women, and pray that his dirty secret, his one true forbidden love, doesn’t get uncovered when passing through the X-ray baggage check all the while drenched in his sweat. His praying is ultimately futile when he makes it to the X-ray machine and is pulled aside by TSA to check a mysterious item in his luggage where his sex doll is revealed to the world popping out of his luggage like a jack-in-the-box. However, TSA is more concerned about the lube bottle of over 3oz in his luggage. It is an intense, slapstick comedy ride that may seem like a fruitless story about some weirdo and his plastic obsession, however, the real reason I want to tell this story is not just to make you laugh, but to illustrate overcoming insecurities. We all have some secret that we are afraid of telling people because of our fear of being ridiculed. It may not be as extreme of a secret as Melvin’s, but I want to show everyone that focusing on those insecurities is just as ridiculous as trying to sneak a sex doll through a TSA line and thinking you’d be caught in the first place.
